Zach Ertz and the Philadelphia Eagles are the Champions of the NFL and Super Bowl LII!
Along with that accomplishment comes a lot of responsibility, and that began first thing Monday morning with Zach appearing on both CBS and NBC’s morning talk shows just hours after catching the game-winning touchdown pass in the Super Bowl.
In his appearance on the CBS Morning News, Zach flew solo and talked about his touchdown and review that followed, the back and forth nature of the game, the special relationship with his wife Julie and the Eagles being the underdogs all postseason.
“I think it was kind of a rallying thing for our city. The city of Philadelphia is all about the underdog.”
Zach also appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, joined by teammate Malcolm Jenkins and talked about how their team rose to the occasion to bring a championship to Philadelphia. Zach in particular talked about how the moment catching the game-winning TD compared to his childhood dreams.
“It was an unbelievable day, from start to finish. When you’re five-years-old, watching the [Super Bowl] you never expect to have an opportunity to play in that game, and then you’re there and it’s just another game of football. It was a full 60-minute fight. [Nick Foles] played amazing and I’ve said all along, when the quarterback’s playing like that, my job is so easy. All I have to do is run and catch. I was lucky enough to have my number called at the end.”
